Went to the Tel Aviv Pride Parade 2019 with the wonderful Tel Aviv Urban Sketchers group. Met a lot of lovely, joyful people in the crowd, and managed to draw two watercolour sketches before the heat and crowds got to me.
People were so kind with their remarks and the vibe and music was just awesome. Tel Aviv Pride is just one more reason to love my city.

Schmincke watercolours with no pencil sketch.
I decided to work on a monochrome Neil Gaiman watercolour portrait, and I remembered to take progress photos for a change.
The initial sketch was done with a Faber Castell 9000 2H on Bockingford 300gsm watercolour paper.
Then I did some light initial shading (I use Schmincke watercolours):

It looks like another year without winter here. I drew this during an Urban Sketchers sketch crawl, but since the sun was right in my face and it was blazing hot (31 degrees centigrade), I didn’t place the shadows properly.
